Sylva Studio was founded in 2021 by Finbar and Jack to combine diverse skills in architecture, furniture, landscape and ecology to offer research driven design for ambitious institutions and individuals.

Finbar Charleson
BA(Hons), MArch, ARBFinbar is a registered architect in the UK, where he studied at the Manchester, Bartlett and Architectural Association Schools of Architecture. Having designed projects across all scales for RSHP, Olson Kundig, DaeWha Kang and dRMM, he has developed significant skills in designing with timber for projects that respond carefully to the needs of environments and occupants.

Jack Cardno
MDesJack is an experienced carpenter, who seeks to embed ecological thinking in design. After completing a masters in Interaction Design at the Glasgow School of Art’s Highlands and Islands, he delivered community driven landscapes for Biomatrix Water before research and ongoing teaching for the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
